United's under-18s draw at Blackburn Rovers
As their FA Youth Cup quarter-final tie against Tottenham moves ever closer, Dave Watson's side were boosted by the return of England youth international Mackenzie Heaney on Tuesday afternoon.
But they fell behind after 24 minutes when Ben Paton set up Tre Pemberton, who fired past Nathan Harker.
Pemberton then hit the post before the break but United grew into the game in the second period.
And they equalised in the 66th minute, when Owen Gallacher found McNall, whose shot crept past home goalkeeper Ben Ascroft.
Both sides had opportunities to win the game, but Rovers' unbeaten home record remained intact while the Magpies claimed a useful point on the road.
