Newcastle United Under-18s suffered a 3-0 defeat against their Manchester United counterparts in the Under-18 Premier League North on Saturday.
Following a goalless first-half at Carrington, the Toon teenagers conceded twice in the opening four minutes of the restart following strikes from James Nolan and Victor Musa.
Graeme Carrick's side were unable to stage a spirited fightback against the Red Devils' youngsters, with Musa adding a third for the hosts in stoppage-time.
In the 47th minute, Newcastle fell behind through Nolan's strike, with the ball ricocheted kindly into the path of the 17-year-old, who drilled a powerful effort beyond Newcastle goalkeeper Aidan Harris into the right-hand corner.
Two minutes later, the young Magpies were delivered a further blow as Musa doubled Man United's advantage, who drove into the penalty area before unleashing a powerful effort into the bottom right-hand corner.
In the third minute of stoppage-time, Newcastle conceded a third of the afternoon as Musa intercepted Harris' pass before proceeding to curl the ball into the net.
