Lewis Pirie's stoppage-time penalty denied Newcastle United Under-18s back-to-back wins in the Under-18 Premier League North following a 1-1 draw away at Leeds United on Saturday.
Rory Powell's early opener sent the Toon teenagers ahead at the Thorp Arch Training Ground, with Graeme Carrick handing debuts to 16-year-old winger Trevan Sanusi, who joined the Magpies from Birmingham City, as well as England under-16 international Leo Shahar, who arrived at St. James' Park from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Teenage striker Kacey Wooster, who joined Newcastle's youth set-up from Southend United this summer, made his under-18s bow in the closing stages of the league clash before, in the fifth minute of injury time, Leeds equalised through Pirie's converted spot kick.
Newcastle United Under-18s return to Under-18 Premier League North action on Saturday, 23rd September as the young Magpies host their Blackburn Rovers counterparts at the Little Benton Academy.
