Newcastle United Under-18s succumbed to a 4-2 defeat against their Stoke City counterparts in the Under-18 Premier League North on Saturday.
The Toon teenagers fell behind inside 23 minutes at the Little Benton Academy following Luke Enright's opener before the hosts levelled the league clash two minutes after the restart courtesy of Logan Watts' equaliser, the defender's fourth goal in his last three games at under-18 level.
Despite Enright regaining Stoke's one-goal cushion six minutes later, Newcastle's youngsters responded for a second time in front of goal as Matheos Ferreira levelled on the hour mark, seconds after Ali Hayder had failed to convert from the penalty spot for the visitors.
Jayden Ogbebor, however, fired Stoke back in front before Elliot Fearn doubled the Potters' advantage in the closing stages on Tyneside.
