Newcastle United Under-18s returned to winning ways in the Under-18 Premier League North following a 4-1 away win against their Nottingham Forest counterparts on Saturday.
The young Magpies trailed inside two minutes at the Nigel Doughty Academy following Conor Brown's close-range finish before Jude Cogdon drew the visitors level, the 16-year-old midfielder's first goal at under-18 level.
Logan Watts, who netted his first goal for United's under-18 side against Middlesbrough last week, sent the Toon teenagers ahead on the stroke of half-time before doubling Newcastle's advantage towards the closing stages of the league encounter.
Teenage forward Joe Brayson ensured maximum points after bagging a stoppage-time penalty, the yougnster's fifth league goal of the 2023/24 campaign at under-18 level, to wrap up an impressive victory for Graeme Carrick's side.
