Newcastle United Under-18s suffered a 4-1 away defeat against their Stoke City counterparts in the Under-18 Premier League North on Saturday.
The young Magpies got off to a flying start as Sean Neave netted his sixth goal of the 2023/24 campaign at under-18 level inside two minutes at Clayton Wood before Emre Tezgel levelled the contest in Staffordshire.
Newcastle’s youngsters trailed at the half-time break as Josh Maskall netted in the closing stages of the first half before Luke Enright’s quick-fire brace after the restart, netting twice in the space of six minutes, extended Stoke’s advantage further.
Graeme Carrick’s side host their Liverpool counterparts in their upcoming Under-18 Premier League North fixture, taking on the Reds’ teenagers at the Little Benton Academy on Saturday, 28th October (kick-off 11am BST).
