Craig Pawson will referee Newcastle United's trip to West Bromwich Albion in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday (1.30pm kick-off).
It is the second time this season the South Yorkshire-based official has taken charge of a Magpies' match, and only his fourth United fixture in total throughout his career.
He was the man in the middle of Newcastle's 1-0 defeat at Stoke in September, when Jack Colback and Papiss Cisse were among three players booked.
So far this term, the 35-year-old has overseen seven games - all in the Barclays Premier League - issuing 25 yellow cards, two reds and awarding one penalty.
Pawson has been a referee since 1993 and progressed through the ranks to become a regular in the Football League over the last few seasons, before being promoted to top flight officiating in 2013.
He was in charge of the 2012 League Two play-off final between Crewe and Cheltenham, and also fourth official for last season's FA Cup semi-final between Wigan Athletic and Arsenal at Wembley.
On Sunday at the Hawthorns, Pawson will be assisted by Peter Kirkup and Michael Salisbury, with Kevin Friend the game's fourth official.
