Krul Provides Platform For Victory

If football is a game of fine margins, Newcastle United's victory at Hull City on Saturday arguably hinged on 60 seconds early in the first half.
When Alex Bruce rose to meet Tom Huddlestone's free-kick with ten minutes played at the KC Stadium, it looked certain the Tigers would break the deadlock.
United goalkeeper Tim Krul had other ideas, however, making an astonishing point-blank stop to keep out the defender's header before somehow smothering Bruce's attempt from the follow-up.
And the Magpies promptly raced up the other end, with Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy combining for Moussa Sissoko to sweep home the opening goal.
That set Newcastle on the way to an impressive 4-1 win - their seventh away-day triumph of the Barclays Premier League season - and for Krul it was the sweetest of moments.
"That is the best feeling for a goalkeeper in a match," explained the Dutch international to nufc.co.uk.
"To make a save, then see the team counter-attack and go 1-0 up is brilliant.
"The first one was purely a reaction and I'm just pleased the guy (Bruce) didn't get a clear shot with the follow-up and it ended up back in my hands.
"We didn't look back after that, and with the goal I conceded just after half-time, we didn't panic; we just kicked on again. That showed a lot of confidence."
Sissoko netted twice, while Loic Remy and Vurnon Anita were also on target for the rampant Magpies at Hull, and Krul believes the scoreline could have been even more emphatic.
"We showed great composure, we kept the ball well, controlled the game and showed some real quality," he said.
"The manager told us that the first pass when we get the ball has to be quality, and that if it is we can hurt them. And it was.
"We could have six maybe - that's how good we were.
"Luuk and Loic's partnership was incredible and then they had Vurnon and Cheick behind them grafting their socks off.
"We've had some great away wins this season but that was definitely right up there."
