Rolando Aarons makes his first under-21 start for Newcastle United against Manchester City this afternoon after scoring against Crystal Palace last time out.
The Jamaican teenager will wear the number nine shirt as part of a three-pronged attack in the 1pm kick-off at Whitley Park in Benton.
In-form Academy striker Jonathyn Quinn will play centrally with Aarons and Romain Amalfitano on either side.
With the likes of Jak Alnwick and Adam Campbell involved for the first team in Moscow on Thursday night and only returning to Tyneside in the early hours of this morning, Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley are still able to call upon James Tavernier while Curtis Good is back from his loan spell at Bradford.
Good will play at left-back, with Alex Nicholson in the other full-back position and skipper Tavernier and Remie Streete in the centre of defence.
Lubo Satka is set to play in an unfamiliar midfield position alongside Steven Logan and Brandon Miele.
United name only four substitutes, with Freddie Woodman the substitute goalkeeper as Jonathan Mitchell starts for the second match in a row.
Lee Desmond, Greg Olley and Alex Gilliead are the other options on the bench.
City, meanwhile, include young striker Devante Cole - son of Andy.
