Pardew Rues Missed Chances

Alan Pardew felt Newcastle did everything but score at the Liberty Stadium at the weekend as they lost to Swansea

Alan Pardew admitted that his Newcastle United side paid the price for not taking their opportunities at Swansea on Saturday.
In a dominant second half display, the Magpies fashioned several good chances against the newly-crowned Capital One Cup winners but couldn't break the deadlock.
And Luke Moore's late goal gave the home side all three points - leaving Pardew to curse his team's luck.
"We played as good as could probably have played without actually getting anything," he told nufcTV.
"It was incredible. We bossed the second half - they were hardly up our end - and created chance after chance. But you've got to take those chances at this level.
"We didn't take them and ultimately you're then open to a mistake. One error at the back, that's what happened and it cost us a goal."
The result saw Newcastle slide to 15th in the Barclays Premier League table, and although United face Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League on Thursday, Pardew is also giving plenty of thought to next weekend's game against Stoke City.
"We're a good side and we'll be okay, and hopefully on Thursday we can get ourselves a victory which will be really, really tough," he said.
"But certainly on Sunday it's a big game for us. We've got to win that home game and then go forward from there."
