United Receive Training Tips From Jarra Jim

Earlier this week, 92-year-old 'Jarra Jim' swapped training tips with United stars ahead of the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Games
Earlier this week, dedicated fundraiser and avid runner, 92-year-old Jim Purcell, showed anyone can take part in this year's Sainsbury's Sport Relief Games as he exchanged training tips with Newcastle United players.
Jim (known locally as 'Jarra Jim') will be running three miles in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile event this weekend in South Shields.
And he doesn't let his 92 years stop him staying active or get in the way of his positive attitude and rigorous training regime. This week he met Steven Taylor, Massadio Haidara and manager Alan Pardew, showing them you're never too old for sport.
Jim said: "I remember the very first Red Nose Day and have supported Comic Relief every year since. I'm running for Sport Relief this weekend and I'm looking for donations. Please can I encourage everyone to sponsor me."
Taylor added: "The boys and I had a great time training with Jim in support of Sport Relief.
"He's an inspiration, demonstrating that anyone can get involved. In my opinion, getting fit and staying fit is the key to a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle.
"The Sainsbury's Sport Relief Games coming up this weekend is the perfect chance to get active while having a bit of fun at the same time. You're not only doing it for yourself, but raising money for disadvantaged people in the UK and across the world."
The Premier League has been involved with Sport Relief from the start, and became one of its Official Partners in 2008. Clubs, fans and players throughout England and Wales will be joining the fun and games this year to celebrate the Premier League's long-term partnership with Sport Relief.
The first ever Sainsbury's Sport Relief Games take place from Friday (21st March) to Sunday (23rd March). It's warming up to be one unmissable weekend with three massive fundraising events to choose from - running, swimming or cycling. Local events can be found at www.sportrelief.com.
