Adam Campbell helped England Under-19s to a 3-0 victory over Scotland on Wednesday evening, but the Young Lions narrowly missed out on a place at this summer's European Championships.
Named in the starting line-up at the Stadion Westerlo, in Belgium, Newcastle forward Campbell and his international teammates knew they had to win their final qualifier to stand any chance of progressing.
But, despite goals from Shaquile Coulthirst, Lewis Baker and Chuba Akpom, Georgia's 2-0 triumph over hosts Belgium saw them top the group and progress to the finals in Lithuania.
Campbell played the full match for Noel Blake's side, who got off to a great start when Coulthirst struck them ahead in the 17th minute.
Chelsea youngster Baker made it two from the penalty spot just after the half-hour mark, and Arsenal's Akpom put the result beyond any doubt with time running out.
However, due to Georgia's win, Campbell and Co will not be travelling to the finals.
