In pictures: Boyhood Magpie Hall checks in

"For me and my brother growing up, it was drilled into us that we were Newcastle," said the Magpies' newest recruit Lewis Hall, who has joined the club he has always supported on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The 18-year-old becomes Eddie Howe's latest signing, with United obliged to make the move permanent next summer based on performance-related criteria.

Along with his parents Laura and Colin, Hall arrived on Tyneside to complete the formalities of his switch and take a look around the club's training centre as well as St. James' Park - where, he revealed, he enjoyed a stadium tour with his family as a three-year-old.

Hall - who made his Premier League bow for the Blues at St. James' last term - met his new boss Howe and underwent a medical before posing for photos in the shirt he has always wanted to wear.

Serena Taylor was there to capture this behind-the-scenes gallery of Hall's first day in black and white for nufc.co.uk.
