In pictures: Saturday at the Sela Cup

Newcastle United's men and women both won at St. James' Park on Saturday as the Sela Cup, presented by VisitMalta, got under way.

The day kicked off with a 1-1 draw between Nice and Villarreal, before Eddie Howe's Magpies took to the field to face Fiorentina, who finished eighth in Serie A last season as well as reaching the final of the Europa Conference League.

Goals from Miguel Almirón and Alexander Isak gave United a comfortable 2-0 victory, and put them in a strong position to win the trophy on Sunday.

Then it was the turn of Becky Langley's women to take centre stage, and they ran out 3-0 winners against West Bromwich Albion Women with goals from Bridget Galloway, Becky Ferguson and Cara Milne-Redhead.

Club photographer Serena Taylor - assisted by Michelle Mercer - brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from the day.
