Newcastle United booked their place in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals with a penalty shoot-out victory at Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.
There was little to separate the sides after the end of 30 added minutes, with Anthony Gordon having put the Magpies ahead before Sammie Szmodics responded for the Championship outfit in normal time.
In the end United prevailed from the spot thanks to the brilliance of goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka who, after a fine display in the 120 minutes of action, excelled in the shoot-out, repelling efforts from Szmodics and Dominic Hyam to send Newcastle into the last eight.
