Toon in training: Anyone for tennis?

Wimbledon finished last weekend, but some of Newcastle United's players made time for a spot of tennis on the fourth day of their pre-season training camp at Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate in Yorkshire.

Steve Bruce's players got through plenty of hard work too, with a morning gym and pool session in the campus' state-of-the-art Sports Village followed by an intense afternoon on the training pitch.

But in between, the likes of Florian Lejeune, Matt Ritchie, Allan Saint-Maximin, Federico Fernández, Javier Manquillo and Ryan Fraser made the most of the on-site tennis courts.

While their arrival on Monday was met with drizzle, the sun shone brightly on Thursday as the players stepped up their preparations for Sunday's friendly double-header against York City and Harrogate Town, and Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
