Toon in training: Magpies prepare for Boxing Day clash
Newcastle United travel to Manchester United on Boxing Day, and the mood at the Magpies' Benton base has been good following Saturday's win over Crystal Palace.
The players will travel to Manchester on the evening of Christmas day, but will get the morning and afternoon to spend at home as a reward for their efforts against the Eagles.
They were hard at work on Monday, though, with a gym session ahead of training on the pitches. There was also the welcome sight of skipper Jamaal Lascelles stepping up his recovery from the knee injury which will keep him out until the New Year. He was back running outside, having made good progress in the gym over the last few weeks.
