Goals from Jamaal Lascelles and Chris Wood gave Newcastle United a 2-1 comeback victory at Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday as they booked their place in the Carabao Cup third round.
United had fallen behind to Elliott Nevitt's first half opener under the lights at Prenton Park, but the Magpies fought back - with a little help from substitute Kieran Trippier - to progress as Lascelles and Wood found the target either side of half time to see off the League Two outfit.
Their reward for victory is a home tie against fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace, which is set to be played on the week beginning Monday, 7th November.
Eddie Howe and his side were backed by a sold-out away end in Birkenhead, and club photographer Serena Taylor was there to bring nufc.co.uk this gallery as United sidestepped a potential banana skin on the road.
