Dúbravka named in provisional Slovakia squad

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka has been named in Slovakia’s provisional squad for this summer’s European Championships.

The Magpies stopper, who made his 100th Premier League appearance for the club in Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United, is one of three custodians named in Stefan Tarkovic’s 24-man squad.

He is one of only two England-based players in their roster for the tournament, the other being Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak, while former Newcastle defender Lubomir Satka - who is now with Lech Poznan - is also included.

Other notable names in the Slovakia squad include Marek Hamsik, Milan Skriniar and Stanislav Lobotka.

Dúbravka currently has 25 caps for his country, having made his debut in 2014 while playing for Esbjerg, but is yet to feature in a major tournament.

The final squad, which can include up to 26 players, will be submitted by June 1st, with Slovakia then set to kick-off their first Group E clash with Poland in St. Petersburg on Monday, 14th June.
