Exclusive Barnes interview inside Saturday's programme

You can read an exclusive, six-page interview with Harvey Barnes inside Saturday’s issue of UNITED – Newcastle’s official, acclaimed matchday programme.

The wide-man, who’s only recently returned to action after being sidelined for four months, opens up on his “unusual” injury, the road back to fitness and, above all, his determination to make up for lost time.

Among the other contents of the 84-page issue – recognised as one of the league’s best last season – is a bumper historical section, increased in size for 2023/24. Club Historian Paul Joannou provides four pages, as does regular UNITED columnist Stan Gate, who brings all sorts of black and white memorabilia back to light. There’s the latest chapter of The European Years – a new regular feature looking back at each and every one of the Magpies’ continental campaigns to date – as well as the newest instalments of The Poster Boys and When Worlds Collide, the latter shining a light on a couple of both clubs’ lesser-remembered players.

Elsewhere, there’s a review of last Sunday’s FA Women’s National League Cup semi-final between Newcastle United Women and Portsmouth at St. James’ Park, where more than 22,000 were watching on. A five-page academy section, meanwhile, includes interviews with Anthony Munda and former Magpies youngster Tom Allan.

Sky Sports’ Pete Graves provides his latest column, while Newcastle United Iceland take centre stage in Mags Around The World.

Furthermore, there’s ten dedicated pages on our visitors to SJP, three more for Junior Magpies, boss Eddie Howe and skipper Jamaal Lascelles’ thoughts ahead of the game and much, much more.

UNITED will be on sale around the ground, priced at £3.50.
