Ferguson: Why can't we go further in the Women's FA Cup than ever before?

Newcastle United Women return to Women's FA Cup action this Sunday, with a trip to Chorley Women in the second round.
Becky Langley's team enter the match on the back of a crucial 1-0 away win at Nottingham Forest Women in the league last weekend, as the Magpies continue to compete on all fronts this season.
Newcastle are familiar with Chorley, of course, having played them numerous times in both the league and cup competitions in recent seasons - the North West outfit reside in the FA Women's National League Division One North, the division that Langley's team won last term.
Ahead of the match, 18-year-old forward Becky Ferguson spoke to nufc.co.uk, outlining what she expects the hosts to bring to the cup tie.
"Chorley always want to beat us," she admitted. "I remember when we played them in my first season and they just have an edge about them.
"They'll definitely come out to try and win the battle with us."
While respectful in her analysis of Sunday's opponents, Ferguson says that the development Langley's side have made this season - the Magpies are 12 matches unbeaten in all competitions at the start of 2023/23 - means she has faith Newcastle can continue to progress in the Women's FA Cup too.
"I think every season we've improved and we have built on our performances, so I have no doubt this season why we can't go further than we have done before," she said.
"We can't go in complacent thinking we're going to beat them because it's only one league below and they're going to come out battling.
"Obviously, they will want to go on a good cup run as well. So we just need to make sure we act as if it's any other game, and we go out to win."
