Gibson looks ahead to 'exciting' run-in

Long-time Magpie Georgia Gibson is hoping to add to her list of achievements with Newcastle United Women by securing back-to-back league titles this weekend.
Becky Langley's team welcome Huddersfield Town Women to Kingston Park on Sunday knowing one more win will be enough to secure the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division title.
Gibson, who joined the club she supports in 2020, has hit double digits for the second season running and scored some crucial goals for United along the way, including a last-minute winner against Portsmouth Women at St. James' Park.
Since coming under the umbrella of Newcastle United Football Club, the Lasses have been on an incredible journey, with Gibson netting on all four of the team's competitive matches at St. James' Park and helping them to lift the FAWNL National League North last term.
A successive promotion is now in sight, but the job isn't finished yet with Huddersfield, who are fighting at the other end of the table, set to provide a stern test.
"As long as we focus on getting the job done on Sunday we should be fine," Gibson told nufc.co.uk. "There is certainly a different feeling compared to last year but we are still not being complacent.
"It's really exciting, especially for those of us who have been at the club for a number of seasons.
"We're focused on doing our job against Huddersfield. We're hoping it's going to be a lot smoother compared to the final day of last season."
That day, United pipped Durham Cestria to promotion on goal difference and their number ten has been a constant presence as Newcastle have tasted just one league defeat all season.
"The togetherness of our group has been fantastic; home and away we've travelled together and picked up the results required," Gibson said.
"That one home game we lost was against Nottingham Forest, which was very disappointing, but we never let it define us. We all stuck together and have managed to get to where we are.
"We continue to raise our standards week in, week out and we know what our minimum standards are that we hit every day."
She added: "We've been working really hard all that time to get to where we are now. If we were to get into the Championship would top it all off."
Sunday's game against Huddersfield Town Women at Kingston Park kicks off at 14:00 BST on Sunday, 14th April and tickets are on sale here, priced at £5 for adults and £1 for children.
However, prices will increase to £8 for adults and £3 for concessions on the day of the match.
