Kevin Richardson leaves Academy coach role

Newcastle United Academy's Under-21s assistant coach, Kevin Richardson, is leaving the club.

His departure brings to an end a 12-year career with the Academy where Kevin coached the Under-18 and Under-21 age groups.

Over a 20-year playing career, Kevin bagged a number of trophies including the First Division title, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup with Everton, as well as the First Division title with Arsenal and also the League Cup with Aston Villa, where he was captain.

Kevin has worked with some of the club's top talent and will be missed at the Academy and across the club.

Kevin said: "I have very much enjoyed my work at the Academy and wish the players and staff every success for the future as I look forward to spending more time with my family after what has been an incredible career."

Newcastle United extends its sincere thanks to Kevin for his many years of service and wishes him the best for the future.

The club's search for a new Under-21s assistant coach is underway.
