Loan Watch: First career trophy - and red card - for Minteh
newcastleunited.com rounds up the weekend's action involving the Magpies' loan stars...
Yankuba Minteh
Young winger Minteh picked up the first piece of silverware of his nascent career on Sunday when Feyenoord beat NEC Nijmegen 1-0 in the KNVB Cup final.
Igor Paixao's goal on the hour seperated the sides at De Kuip, the home of Arne Slot's men, but while it was a day to remember for Minteh, the 19-year-old also recorded a different career first: a first red card.
Minteh was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card with just under 20 minutes remaining, but his side held on to lift the trophy in his absence, with the teenager returning to the pitch to collect his winner's medal later on.
Fraser was introduced from the bench with ten minutes left of Southampton's 2-1 Championship defeat at Cardiff City on Saturday.
Queens Park Rangers recorded a 1-0 win over Preston North End in the second tier at the weekend, with midfielder Hayden brought on in the dying seconds to help his side make sure of the points.
Lewis lined up at left back for Watford as they were held to a goalless draw by Hull City. The Northern Ireland international was withdrawn with 17 minutes left on the clock.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder was an unused substitute as Sheffield Wednesday beat Blackburn Rovers 3-1 at Ewood Park.
The full back wasn't part of the Swansea City side that beat Huddersfield Town 4-0 away from home.
Kell Watts
Centre back Watts recently returned to the fold at Wigan Athletic, but missed out on their 2-1 win over League One champions Portsmouth.
Matty Bondswell
Full back Bondswell was handed a start for Newport County, but was taken off after 65 minutes of their 1-0 home defeat to Salford City in League Two.
Dylan Stephenson
Frontman Stephenson made a 20-minute substitute appearance for South Shields as they recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Southport in National League North.
Michael Ndiweni
Ndiweni was brought on for the final quarter of Annan Athletic's 2-1 victory over Edinburgh University in Scottish League One.
Rodrigo Vilca
The Peruvian midfielder remained on the bench throughout as FK Vozdovac beat Novi Pazar 1-0 in the Serbian SuperLiga.
Garang Kuol
Kuol was in action for Australia Under-23s in Qatar on Sunday, where they drew 0-0 with the hosts in the Under-23 Asia Cup.
