Matty Longstaff scored his first goal for Mansfield Town as Mark Hughes' first match in charge of Bradford City ended in defeat on Saturday.
The 21-year-old midfielder - who has netted three times for Newcastle - joined the Stags in January and, in his third appearance for the League Two club, sealed a 2-0 victory for his temporary team with a deflected effort.
"(It was) a bit of a scruffy one but you take them," he told Mansfield's official website after helping the Stags extend their unbeaten league run to 13 games at the Utilita Energy Stadium.
"It was (a) great feeling (but) the most important thing is three points. Our goal is promotion, so we know that we've got to win games. We probably should've won last week (so) it was a big thing to come here in front of a big crowd and win."
Longstaff played the full game and said of his loan spell: "I'm absolutely loving it. The manager and his staff have been unbelievable.
"The lads are great to work with every day, they're top players and I'm loving it."
Elsewhere in League Two, Elliot Anderson played 90 minutes for Bristol Rovers as they drew 1-1 with Exeter City in front of a crowd of nearly 10,000 at the Memorial Stadium, while Joe White started Hartlepool's 3-1 defeat to Walsall but came off at half time.
Jeff Hendrick played the whole game for Queens Park Rangers as they lost 1-0 to Blackburn in the Championship while Freddie Woodman was an unused substitute for AFC Bournemouth as they beat Stoke City in the same division.
In League One, Kell Watts was an unused substitute for Wigan as they lost at home to Sunderland while Matty Bondswell watched Shrewsbury Town's 2-0 win over Burton from the bench. Jack Young was not involved for Wycombe as they were beaten by Accrington Stanley.
And in Scotland Oisín McEntee, fresh from his first career goal in midweek, played 90 minutes as Morton kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Arbroath.
