Match officials for Hatters visit announced

Tom Bramall will referee Newcastle United's Premier League game against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday 3rd February
Newcastle United vs Luton Town
St. James' Park
Kick-off 3pm GMT

The Magpies welcome the Hatters to Tyneside for the first time since an FA Cup tie between the sides in January 2018, which United won 3-1. It will be the first league meeting between the teams at St. James' Park since September 1992, when Newcastle ran out 2-0 winners.

And Bramall has been appointed to oversee what will be just his second fixture involving the Magpies so far this term as Eddie Howe's side look to exact revenge for their 1-0 defeat at Kenilworth Road in the reverse fixture just before Christmas.

The 34-year-old has been a Premier League referee since 2022, when he was promoted from the EFL after four years. The former PE teacher was the man in the middle for United's 2-0 win over Burnley in September - a game in which he issued four yellow cards, including one to Anthony Gordon.

He is yet to keep his cards pocketed in his 19 outings so far this term, but has dished out just one red card - to Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister in their 3-1 win over Bournemouth in August.
