Miley receives international call-up for England Under-17s

Sixteen-year-old midfielder Lewis Miley has been selected for England Under-17s ahead of two friendly fixtures against Germany in Spain this month.

The Durham-born teenager made his Young Lions debut in August during a Nordic Football Championship clash against Norway before scoring his first international goal in a 2-1 win against their Finland counterparts.

The promising youngster, who made his Newcastle first-team debut during a 5-0 victory against Al Hilal in Riyadh earlier this month, will meet up with Ryan Garry's squad in Pinatar ahead of facing Germany on Wednesday, 11th January (kick-off 5pm GMT) and Saturday, 14th January (kick-off 2pm GMT). Both friendlies will take place at the Pinatar Arena.

Miley, who joined Newcastle's Academy at the age of seven, was one of nine United teenagers to sign a full-time scholarship last summer.
