New venue and kick-off time for Wear-Tyne derby

Newcastle United Under-21s' Premier League 2 visit to local rivals Sunderland has a new venue and kick-off time.

The Division Two encounter was due to take place at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground on Monday, 30th January, with kick-off set at 7pm (GMT).

However, the two sides will now face each other at the Black Cats' Academy of Light. Kick-off is set at 1pm (GMT) whilst the date remains the same.

Newcastle's second-string were held to a 1-1 draw against their local rivals at St. James' Park in October as Joe White's opener was cancelled out by Alex Bass' controversial stoppage-time equaliser, with the 24-year-old goalkeeper handling the ball into the net from close-range.

United's youngsters currently occupy eighth spot in the second tier of the Premier League 2, six points adrift of the play-off spots.
