Newcastle United supports No Room For Racism campaign
Premier League clubs are supporting the Premier League's 'No Room For Racism' campaign this weekend, with players symbolically taking the knee before kick-off to highlight unity against all forms of racism.
Newcastle United Football Club believes that football is for all. We are committed to celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion, and we do not tolerate any form of discrimination.
We use our United As One brand to positively influence and educate, and we encourage all supporters to report any incidents of alleged discrimination so that these can be investigated and actioned.
Where discriminatory conduct is evidenced, we do not hesitate to take appropriate action aligned to the Premier League's commitment regarding discriminatory and abusive conduct.
This season, as a result of reports from supporters, we have issued the following bans to individuals found to have used racist or abusive language during a game:
* A 43-year-old person from Newton Aycliffe received a three-season Premier League-wide ban for using racially discriminatory and offensive language, directed to Crystal Palace players at the match on Saturday, 3rd September.
* A 27-year-old person from Killingworth received a three-season Premier League wide ban for using racially discriminatory and offensive language directed to Crystal Palace players at the match on Saturday, 3rd September. This was reported by supporters via Kick it Out.
* A 26-year-old person has received a season ban for using offensive and abusive language at the Manchester City match on Sunday, 21st August.
Darren Eales, Newcastle United's CEO, said: "I would like to personally thank our fans for their ongoing support in reporting incidents of discrimination as we work together to ensure that football is for everyone. Be an ally - challenge it, report it, change it."
If anyone witnesses any discriminatory behaviour whilst attending a match, please report this immediately where possible by contacting the nearest steward.
