Northumberland Senior Cup quarter-final draw made
Newcastle United Under-21s have been handed an away tie against Whitley Bay in the quarter-finals of the Techflow Marine Northumberland FA Senior Cup.
The young Magpies, who received a bye to the last-eight, will make the short trip to Hillheads to face Nicky Gray's side, who currently occupy second spot in Northern League Division One - the ninth tier of English football.
The two sides last met in the competition back in 2014, with Newcastle's second-string claiming a 1-0 win over the Seahorses in the semi-final stage, courtesy of Rolando Aarons' late winner.
Newcastle's youngsters, who last won the Northumberland Senior Cup in 2018, reached the final of the competition last term before suffering a 3-2 defeat against Blyth Spartans at St. James' Park in May.
The quarter-final tie must be played on or before Sunday, 18th December, with a date to be confirmed in due course.
