Potts: We must make teams fear us

Newcastle United Women defender Charlotte Potts is looking forward to taking on Nottingham Forest Women in the FA Women's National League Cup this weekend, despite the threat the Tricky Trees pose.
Forest won the FAWNL Northern Premier Division last term - with Newcastle Women's first-team coach Andy Cook at the helm - but Potts feels the Magpies' early-season form should inspire them to take the game to the visitors at Gateshead International Stadium in Sunday's 14:00 GMT kick-off.
"We have a little bit of insight, due to some of our staff being there previously, but in all honesty, it's (important) that you stick to your own game plan and you focus on yourself," she said in an interview for Newcastle United Women's upcoming matchday programme for the game against Forest.
"You let the opposition worry about you. You have to make them fear you and not fear them. That's the philosophy that I always have.
"Without a doubt (we are a dangerous team). I think when you have a full-time platform, the groundwork you can get in, the preparation is done throughout the week. It's about just utilising that and making a game out of it."
Gateshead International Stadium holds a special place in Potts' heart, with the Gateshead-born Newcastle Women defender helping the local community in her role as a Gateshead Foundation Ambassador.
Potts, who is also a patron of anti-discriminatory charity Show Racism the Red Card, is keen for the Magpies to inspire more supporters to follow Becky Langley's side.
"Here's hoping for a big crowd on the day, where we can put on a good performance to hopefully (attract) many new fans to come back and support us at Kingston Park," she said.
"The results (are important). Once you win, that's the buzz, and everyone thrives off that. We all go away from the game, whether that's fans, coaches or players, in a good mood."

There are 2,800 tickets available for Newcastle's cup clash against Nottingham Forest Women.
They are priced at £5 for adults and £1 for supporters aged 17 and under and are available to buy in advance here - please note, Newcastle United Women season ticket holders must purchase a ticket due to this fixture being a FAWNL Cup tie.
Supporters who can't make the match will be able to watch for free on NUFC TV, while the game will also be streamed live on Newcastle United's official YouTube channel.
