Pre-season fixtures announced for Under-23s
Newcastle United's second-string will take on Hibernian, Celtic Under-23s and Rotherham United in pre-season friendlies ahead of their 2019/20 league campaign.
Newcastle's youngsters will travel to Edinburgh to face Hibernian on Monday, 15th July (kick-off 2pm BST) before hosting their Celtic counterparts on Sunday, 21st July at Newcastle's Little Benton Academy (kick-off 2pm BST).
Neil Redfearn, who was appointed as under-23 head coach in June, will take his side to his former club Rotherham, with Redfearn managing the League One outfit during the 2015/16 campaign.
United's second-string enjoyed a memorable season last term, reaching the Premier League Cup final and the Premier League 2 division two play-off final, losing to Southampton and Everton respectively, along with retaining their HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens title in Hong Kong.

Monday, 15th July – Hibernian (Hibernian Training Ground, 2pm kick-off BST)
Sunday, 21st July – Celtic Under-23s (Newcastle United Academy, 2pm kick-off BST)
