Promotion the priority, insists Galloway

United have already taken on Sunday's opponents twice this season with Newcastle coming out on top on both occasions, winning 3-1 in the league and 5-0 in the Women's FA Cup respectively.

With only seven games left to play in the league, Newcastle know they are closing in on potential back-to-back promotions, but Galloway knows the squad can't afford to take anything for granted.

"In training, everyone has been on top form," Galloway revealed. "We're focussing on pushing for promotion. It's been really competitive and a great environment to be involved in.

"We can never get complacent. It's a really important point of the season and we've just got to win every game; we can't afford to give up for a single minute.

"We have to keep taking each game as it comes and everyone has got to keep pushing one another in training and on matchdays by demanding standards."

It's not just United who have fond memories against Stoke; Galloway herself has enjoyed success against the Potters this season, netting three goals in two appearances.

Newcastle's top scorer is looking to add to her tally of ten league strikes this season, but added: "We've had some really good results against them previously but you can never underestimate anyone.

"We can't go into the game over-confident, we know they've made some new signings so it'll be a completely different outlook.

"I'm full of confidence having scored both times we've played them this season and I know how to attack their weaknesses."

Competition for places is strong within Becky Langley's squad which has raised standards in training every day, and Galloway added: "For us, holding each other accountable is a big thing.

"We just need to focus on one game at a time and we'll get to where we want to be at the end of the season."
