Robson: 'We fight for ourselves, the club and the fans'

Newcastle United Women winger Lauren Robson issued a clear message following the Lady Magpies' 3-1 away triumph over Chorley Women at the weekend, reiterating the team's desire to "fight" for every pillar of the club.
The Newcastle number 12 notched early in the second half, making it 2-1 after Charlotte Potts' first-half header had drawn Becky Langley's side level following an early setback, and Georgia Gibson added a third late on.
After beginning the season in scintillating form in front of goal, Robson says she's happy to be back on the scoresheet ahead of the season run-in.
"It feels like a long time coming as I got off the mark in the first game and scored a few goals in the opening games," she told nufc.co.uk. "I then had a spell without a goal, but I'm happy to get back to it with two goals in the last three games.
"I am looking to keep adding more to the tally, but also helping others add to theirs."
The winger was thrilled with the mental strength shown by United to come back from a goal behind, and also praised new signings Cara Milne-Redhead and Charlyann Pizzarello, who made their competitive debuts for Newcastle at Chorley.
"The team fought hard to get the three points out of this game," she said. "It's a hard pitch to play on and to go behind can psychologically set you back, but we stuck together and ground out the win.
"The two new signings have come in and showed what they're about," she added. "It's easy to see their professionalism from playing in teams in higher leagues.
"They both bring something different to the team and have the key attributes that we as a team need and the coaches look for, which makes them fantastic additions. We look forward to seeing what they will bring."
And looking ahead, Robson delivered a message to the supporters ahead of what is sure to be an exciting end to the season.
"Our ambitions for the rest of the season are to take one game at a time and do the job week in, week out," she said. "We want to score goals but also keep clean sheets.
"Our long-term goal is to win the league, but we take it one game at a time. We fight for ourselves, the fans and the club in each and every game."
