Andrew Madley refereeing a game

Latest News

Truly, Madley, Deepdale

Written by Dan King

Andrew Madley will be the referee when Newcastle take on the men from Deepdale, Preston North End, at St. James' Park on Monday night.

The West Yorkshire whistler was, coincidentally, the man in the middle when United beat the Lilywhites 6-0 in the EFL Cup in October.

He also took charge of August's 4-1 win over Reading and the 2-2 draw at Norwich City in February.

Overall, he's refereed 41 matches in all competitions this season, showing 138 yellow cards and seven red.

On Monday night, he will be assisted by Nick Hopton and Nick Greenhalgh. Jeremy Simpson has been named as the fourth official.
