Venue change for under-23s ahead of Blues trip

Newcastle United Under-23s will take on their Birmingham City counterparts at Liberty Way, home of Nuneaton Borough, on Monday, 23rd August.

The Premier League 2 clash was due to take place at St. Andrews' Trillion Trophy Stadium, home of the Blues' first-team, but will now take place at Nuneaton's home ground in Warwickshire (kick-off 7pm BST).

The young Magpies began their 2021/22 league campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Reading on Monday evening, with Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan's penalty cancelling out Dylan Stephenson's opener for United's second-string.

This will be the first time the two sides have met in the Premier League 2 after Birmingham's Academy had been awarded Category One status in May.
