Georgina Spraggon says that being made captain of Newcastle United Women's development team for the 2022/23 season has been beneficial to her growth both on and off the pitch.
The young Magpies, who have won seven of their previous eight competitive matches, travel to Leyland to face their Clarets counterparts at the Lancashire FA Training Ground (kick-off 7pm GMT).
Currently sat in fourth place of Division Two, three points adrift of second-placed Norwich City with a game in hand, Scott is determined for United's second-string to continue their impressive winning run on the road.
The versatile full-back, who signed his first professional contract for his boyhood club last summer, told nufc.co.uk: "We're in good form at the minute so we're heading into the Burnley game full of confidence, expecting to get three points. We've had a few lads go out on loan but we still have a decent squad depth to win the game.
"We have had our captain (Jack Young) go out but there are a lot of players who can take charge and provide the team with lots of communication to make sure we can win games.
"It's going to be a good challenge, especially the play-offs if we can stay in the right positions.
"We love the away games and playing in different grounds, seeing what we can do. We've picked up wins in recent games which has been good and we've done that at home too. We need to continue that form.
"I think the wins we have picked up have been based on what we've been doing in training. We're focusing on what we can improve on, working on them in training, and then displaying that in the matches."
Newcastle's youngsters recorded an important 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday night courtesy of second-half strikes from Isaac Westendorf and Cameron Ferguson.
Competing in his first full season at under-23 level this term, Scott - who made his second-string debut at the age of 17 - is hopeful of securing promotion into the Premier League 2's top tier at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
"We went into the game knowing Villa were good opposition," the Gateshead-born teenager added. "They have good players so were buzzing to get the three points. They had a lot of chances in the first-half but we dug deep and defended well to stop them from scoring.
"They are only a few places below us so beating them puts us in a better position to challenge for the play-offs.
"We've been working hard in training and it's been very good to pick up clean sheets. In recent years, we haven't been lucky enough to get into the play-offs so to achieve that would be very good for us.
"It's been a very positive season so far. We're first-year pros so we're going in and working hard for the team, doing a job for the team. We're keeping our places which is good as well."
