Yedlin marks Magpies century with exclusive programme interview

DeAndre Yedlin – who made his 100th Newcastle United appearance in the 3-2 win at West Ham last weekend – is the player in focus in Saturday’s official matchday programme, UNITED, for the visit of AFC Bournemouth (3pm kick-off).

The American full back reached his century in that fine victory at the London Stadium, turning in a typically energetic display down the right to help the Magpies mark his milestone in style.

And this week he sat down with UNITED to take a look back at his first three-and-a-half years in black and white, discussing the highs and lows of his time at St. James’ Park as well as the personal story behind one of his latest tattoos – the large inking on the front of his neck, which he acquired over the summer.

As well as the exclusive, eight-page interview with the 26-year-old, there is plenty more to enjoy inside this weekend’s issue for the clash with the Cherries.

Former wideman Wayne Fereday chats candidly about his struggles with United and Bournemouth in our Flying Visit feature, while Swedish full back Emil Krafth is the latest player to dip his hand in the Toon Tombola.

Ryan Barrett is profiled in this week’s High Hopes, and club historian Paul Joannou remembers the Magpies and Sunderland’s infamous derby meeting of December 1908.

There are also reflections on Tuesday night’s glittering Newcastle United Foundation United as One annual awards dinner at St. James’ Park, and regular columns from head coach Steve Bruce and captain Jamaal Lascelles.
