Zoom Army: Mark Gillespie on travelling away with the fans, Ronan Keating and why he's the 'coffee man'
Mark Gillespie answers supporters' questions via Zoom
With the country currently on various tiers of lockdown, it's a tall order to have a cup of tea with your grandmother, let alone sit down for a chat with one of Newcastle United's first team squad. So this season, we're inviting supporters to submit their questions to UNITED, the Magpies' award-winning matchday programme, and we'll ask the best ones via Zoom.
Last week, for the Everton edition of UNITED, Mark Gillespie donned a classic 90s Magpies shirt - "I've had it for quite a while, I'm getting a bit big for it now. At the start of lockdown, with nowt else to do, I got a few more but as soon as I signed for Newcastle I thought 'I'm not going to be able to wear them now, I'll look like a right weirdo' but I thought I'd stick this on for the occasion," he explained - and fielded fans' queries on a wide range of topics.
Zoom Army regularly appears in UNITED, which is packed with 84 pages of exclusive interviews and features, plus regular columns from head coach Steve Bruce and captain Jamaal Lascelles, every home game. Supporters can subscribe for the season here to receive their programme before every match at St. James' Park.
