Newcastle have signed goalkeeper Rob Elliot from Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal with the Magpies, and becomes manager Alan Pardew's seventh signing of the summer.
Elliot signed a professional deal with the Addicks in 2004, and has made 109 appearances for the south-east London side, with a number of those coming during Pardew's time at The Valley.
He has also spent time on loan at Bishop's Stortford, Notts County and Accrington Stanley.
Following the departure of Fraser Forster on loan to Celtic, the arrival of Elliot will strengthen the goalkeeping department at St. James' Park, and he said: "I am looking forward to the challenge of joining a club like Newcastle United.
"This is a huge club and a huge opportunity for me to learn from two of the best keepers in the division."
Magpies manager Pardew added: "The goalkeeping position is one we felt we needed to strengthen. Rob is an excellent keeper who I have worked with before, and I know he will be a good signing for the Club."
