Alan Pardew is determined to pick up all three points this weekend - but to do so in style, and give 50,000 Geordies something to cheer about.
Swansea City are the visitors to St. James' Park on Saturday for a traditional 3pm kick-off, with United looking for a return to winning ways at the first attempt, having slipped to defeat at the hands of West Ham last time out.
While there have been home victories over Tottenham, Norwich and West Brom already this season, the Magpies are yet to find a real consistency on Tyneside and turn their stadium into a fortress - something which Pardew insists is key.
"Our home form hasn't been great," explained the boss.
"We've nicked a couple of wins, we've had injuries and again this weekend we will be scratching around a bit in terms of our senior players. We have to have extra resolve and get a victory.
"It's a tough test for us because we are going to have a stadium that will expect us to win, and Swansea keep the ball really well.
"Our fans are going to have to be patient and understand it's a difficult game and one where they will come to frustrate us.
"But it's important that we give our fans some entertainment that will lift them."
Following the visit of Swansea, Pardew's troops then face Maritimo, Southampton and Stoke in quick succession, and the manager knows a run of results is important to the Magpies' fortunes both in Premier League and Europa League action.
"We've got four games in nine days from Saturday and that is a tough schedule," he said.
"We are going to have to make sure we come through this period stronger and get some solid results - it's a big week this week."
Tickets for Saturday's Premier League match against Swansea are still available, starting at just £20 for adults and £10 for juniors. For more information, click here
