Premier League TAG Heuer Young Player of the Season Award announced

The Premier League has announced a new annual award for young players.

TAG Heuer, the official timekeeper for the Premier League, will present the TAG Heuer Young Player of the Season Award at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

The award will sit alongside the established end-of-season awards: the PL2 Player of the Season, the Budweiser Goal of the Season, the Barclays Manager of the Season and the EA SPORTS Player of the Season.

It will be presented to the best-performing player aged 23 or younger at the start of the season. Sean and Matty Longstaff, Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin are all eligible.

The TAG Heuer Young Player of the Season shortlist will be released before the campaign ends. As with the other end-of-season awards, the shortlist will be voted on by the public and the Premier League Awards Panel, with the winner announced in May 2020.

The average age of Premier League teams, at 26 years and 307 days, is younger than at any stage of the competition's history after the inaugural season.
