Team news: Wilson starts against AC Milan

Callum Wilson will start for Newcastle United in their crucial Champions League Group F clash with AC Milan on Wednesday (kick-off 8pm GMT).

Wilson - who made his return from injury in Sunday's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur - is preferred to Alexander Isak up front for the game against the Italian giants, with both sides going for the win as they bid to secure qualification for the knockout round.

That change in attack is the only one made by head coach Eddie Howe, meaning Martin Dúbravka starts again in goal behind a backline of Kieran Trippier, Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schär and Tino Livramento.

Lewis Miley keeps his place in midfield, with Brazilian duo Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton alongside him.

And Miguel Almirón and Anthony Gordon will look to provide ammunition from the flanks for frontman Wilson at St. James' Park.

Howe has been handed a boost, with defender Dan Burn fit enough to return to the bench along with Isak and Sean Longstaff.

Loris Karius and youngster Adam Harrison provide goalkeeping backup, with Paul Dummett and Lewis Hall also named.

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka; Kieran Trippier, Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schär, Tino Livramento; Lewis Miley, Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton; Miguel Almirón, Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon.

Substitutes: Loris Karius, Adam Harrison, Dan Burn, Paul Dummett, Lewis Hall, Sean Longstaff, Alexander Isak.
