Dani Ángel's stoppage-time penalty condemned Newcastle United Under-18s to a narrow 1-0 defeat against their Wolverhampton Wanderers counterparts in a Under-18 Premier League North clash which involved three red cards.
Both sides were reduced to ten men in the first-half at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground, with Wolves youngster Josh Gidaree shown his marching orders in the opening stages after illegally halting a Magpies attack before midfielder Matheos Ferreira, a representative of England at under-15 level, was dismissed before the half-hour mark after picking up two yellow cards.
With the full-time whistle nearing, Newcastle defender Harry Powell was sent off in the final minutes after handling a goalbound effort, leaving the Toon Teenagers with nine men, before Ángel dispatched the resulting penalty to secure maximum points for the hosts.
