Loan Watch: Minteh nets first Champions League goal

nufc.co.uk takes a look at the latest European and EFL action involving the Magpies' loan stars...

Yankuba Minteh

The Gambian youngster had a fine evening on Wednesday, helping Feyenoord seal a Europa League spot - and netting his first Champions League goal in the process.

The Dutch outfit were beaten at Celtic but Minteh - a 54th-minute substitute - made it 1-1 on the night in Glasgow with his fourth goal of his loan spell with Arne Slot's men with eight minutes left on the clock.

Gustaf Lagerbielke's header won it for the Scottish side in the dying moments but results elsewhere meant Feyenoord finished third in Champions League Group E, sealing a Europa League knockout stage spot.

Ryan Fraser

The on-loan Southampton man - who replaced Shea Charles with half an hour remaining - made a decisive contribution to help the Saints take a point at Coventry City in the Championship.

Fraser's cross was helped on by former Magpie Adam Armstrong, with Sam Edozie waiting to pounce and net a leveller for Russell Martin's men as it finished 1-1.

Jamal Lewis

Full back Lewis played the full 90 minutes for Watford in the second tier on Tuesday, but they were beaten 2-1 by high-flying Ipswich Town at Vicarage Road.

Jeff Hendrick

Midfielder Hendrick wasn't involved for Sheffield Wednesday as they were beaten 3-1 at Norwich City on Wednesday.

Joe White

White was given the whole 90 minutes for Crewe, but the Alex were beaten 4-2 at home to Bristol Rovers in their FA Cup second round replay.

Matty Bondswell

Defender Bondswell cruised past Barnet in their FA Cup second round replay, beating Barnet 4-1, but he remained on the bench throughout.
