Team news from Old Trafford ahead of Wednesday's Carabao Cup fourth round clash

Head coach Howe has opted shuffle his pack and significantly switch up his injury-hit side following Saturday's 2-2 draw at Wolves in the Premier League, with only Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Sean Longstaff - who captains the Magpies for the first time on his 150th appearance - retaining their places.

There is also a first start in 15 months for Emil Krafth - who has fully recovered from the serious knee injury he sustained in August 2022 - and goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka is also named in the line-up, while youngsters Ben Parkinson and Amadou Diallo are among the substitutes.

Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall line up on opposite flanks in with Krafth, Paul Dummett and Matt Targett forming an experienced backline in front of goalkeeper Dúbravka.

Longstaff skippers United from the middle of the park, with Joe Willock handed a first start of the campaign after his own recovery from injury and Matt Ritchie also in from the outset.

Further forward, Joelinton will provide support for Anthony Gordon in attack, with Callum Wilson on the bench along with fellow regulars Bruno Guimarães, Kieran Trippier, Jamaal Lascelles and Dan Burn.

Miguel Almirón, Loris Karius and under-21s Parkinson and Diallo complete Howe's bench for the fourth round tie with the Red Devils.
