Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier has been nominated for the Premier League's EA Sports Player of the Month award for September.

The England international was the division’s top assister last month after registering four assists in as many English top-flight matches for Eddie Howe’s side, including three in the Magpies’ historic 8-0 away win against Sheffield United.

The Bury-born right-back teed up Dan Burn for United’s second goal against the Blades as well as Sven Botman’s header, the Dutchman’s first strike for the club, before setting up Callum Wilson for Newcastle’s fourth of a goal-laden afternoon at Bramall Lane.

Creating 13 chances during the month, the second most in the competition, Trippier produced a key tackle which led towards Miguel Almirón’s stunning strike in a 2-0 triumph over Burnley at St. James’ Park last weekend.

Trippier is shortlisted for the award alongside Manchester City forward Julián Álvarez, Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Pedro Neto, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min and Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa.

Supporters can vote for the winner here, with voting closing at 12 noon on Monday, 9th October. The winner will be announced on Friday, 13th October at 11am (BST).
