Newcastle United youngsters Josef Yarney and Luke Charman have returned to the club following loan spells with Morecambe and Accrington respectively.

Centre half Yarney joined the League Two Shrimps for the first half of the campaign after featuring for the Magpies first team in pre-season, and made his bow against Exeter City in August.

In total the former Everton man, who made 30 outings for United's second string last term, made 24 appearances at the heart of defence for Jim Bentley's side, who currently sit 20th in the fourth tier.

And frontman Charman – who netted twice in three games for United’s under-23s prior to his loan at the Wham Stadium this season – has also now returned to St. James’ Park.

The 21-year-old initially joined League One side Stanley on loan in August, linking up with John Coleman’s men along with his Magpies teammate Dan Barlaser.

Charman made four appearances for Accy this term, after bagging 14 goals in 26 appearances for Newcastle’s second string in the 2017/18 campaign.
