Newcastle United Women are delighted to announce that forward Casi Gregson has signed her first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old joined the Magpies in February from Gwalia United and has been playing and training with the Under-21s since her arrival.

Casi has spent time in the first team environment training with Tanya Oxtoby’s side throughout the summer, and the forward went on to make her debut on Wednesday night in the Subway Players’ Cup against Aston Villa.

The Welsh Under-19 international also received her first senior squad call-up on Tuesday as Rhian Wilkinson’s side prepare for their World Cup qualifiers against Albania.

On signing her pro deal, Casi said: “It feels unreal. When I first had the conversation and heard I was getting a professional contract, I couldn’t believe it, and getting to share the news with my family was special.

“This is such a big club; everybody knows Newcastle. The style of football, the energy and determination from everyone here are unreal. I can keep improving and helping the team move forward.”

Manager, Tanya Oxtoby, said: “Casi joined the club back in February and has shown really good progression while with the Under-21s. She spent time with us in pre-season and continued to show that development in training and deservedly earned her first team on Wednesday night.

“Her form at the start of the season has also seen her called up by Wales at senior level for the first time, an achievement that we are all really proud of. We look forward to helping her continue her development.”
