Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle has made three changes to his side for Tuesday night's Carabao Cup third round tie at Millwall.

Fabian Schär, Jacob Ramsey and Jacob Murphy come into the starting 11 for the clash at The Den, with Malick Thiaw, Lewis Miley and Anthony Elanga reverting to the bench for the game against the Championship side.

Lukáš Horníček starts in goal, with Swiss centre back Schär making his first start of the campaign alongside Amar Dedić, Sven Botman and Lewis Hall at the back.

Ramsey, who grabbed the Magpies' equaliser in the 2-2 Premier League draw with Bournemouth last weekend, lines up alongisde Nico González in the middle of the park, with Murphy and Harvey Barnes supporting from the flanks.

And Yoane Wissa - who will wear the captain's armband against the Lions - will lead the line for the visitors.

Matias Fernandez-Pardo made his United bow against the Cherries on Saturday and again has to settle for a place among the substitutes, with Bazoumana Touré and Elanga also in reserve.

Tino Livramento joins Thiaw as the defensive reinforcements, with Aladji Bamba, Sean Steur and Miley the midfield backup.

Nick Pope is the sole goalkeeper on the bench.
